I originally got this book in a set of books that was geared for adolescent girls. At that time, I had never heard of Anita Dittman. The story is heart-wrenching and compelling. I read the story to my three children and at the end I was so engrossed in what was happening I forgot to read out loud. Since reading this book I bought the adult version of the story, which is called "Trapped in Hitler's Hell"... Which was also a very good book, but I will never forget my first reading of "Shadow of His Hand"! I have probably read it five more times and have bought more copies for anybody who will read it.I believe Anita Dittman is still alive. I cannot believe she isn't more famous than Anne Frank. This book is totally worth buying and reading.
